School
districts across the country are cutting their
performing
arts budgets because their officials do not understand
their
benefits. Ministry That Matters has been established
to assure
that area youth do not suffer as a consequence
of these budget
cuts. MTM 501(c)3 non-profit fine and performing
arts foundation
organized in 1998 to educate, train and support
the development
of youth and young adults in the arts. The foundation’s
mission is
to develop, direct and change the lives of youth,
age 7-17,
through performing arts and self-fulfillment programs.
There is
an emphasis to target disadvantage or at risk
youths. This
innovative program is designed to fulfill the
academic and social
needs of young people through positive entertainment.
Millions of youth throughout the country face
lives without
vision or hope. They live in conditions lacking
stimulation and
challenge. The wonder and excitement of young
people blending
their voices, synchronizing their movements and
expressing their
gifts have thrilled people for years. When we
see this interaction
we can envision a harmonious world where race,
color, ethnic,
and cultural backgrounds do not separate, but
bring us together.
The MTM Performing Arts Academy (PAA) is a unique
youth
development program committed to providing high
quality
performing arts education and community entertainment.
The PAA
primary goal is to develop and deliver the highest
standard of
performing arts education integrating the perspectives
of diverse
cultures of the world and instilling:
• Confidence, Creativity, Communication
Skills, Collaboration
Skills, Conflict Resolution Skills, Citizenship
Skills and Academic
Skills.
